南加州大学代理学生会主席王昦王成了这个暑假校园上“最忙碌的人”，他说：“从8
月初到8月30日，我几乎每天都跑一次机场接新生。”他介绍说，去年他们一共接了250
多名从中国大陆来的新生，而今年他们则接了近1000名新生，增加了3倍之多。如今南
加大已经开学一周了，但是接新生的工作仍然在进行着，9月4日一位来南加大读语言课
程的新生已经同南加大学生会取得了联系，需要他们接机。
据王昦王介绍，今年南加大的中国留学生新生大部分是自费的研究生，专业主要集中在
电子工程和计算机两个专业，本科生和博士研究生不是很多。
虽然加州大学洛杉矶分校目前还未开学，但是该校中国学生会主席王军也已经感到接新
生的压力了。他说： “虽然洛杉矶加大中国留学生人数增加没有像南加大那么快，但
是从与我们取得联系的新生情况来看，人数还是有所增加，今年大约有300-400名中国
留学生新生。而且，本科生人数明显增加了。”据悉，目前加州大学洛杉矶分校大约有
2000多名中国留学生。
王昦王分析说，今年美国私立大学中国留学生出现井喷现象的主要原因有如下几个：一
是奥巴马在去年访华期间确定了增大中美留学规模的政策，使得留学签证获得一路绿灯
；二是中国留学生经济实力雄厚，完全可以负担美国私立大学昂贵的学费；三是电子网
路宣传得力，南加大在中国的校内网--人人网建立了主页，而且还建立了QQ群，使得许
多中国学生了解了南加大并申请南加大。
